Comprehensive Services

 

Discovery Counseling Center’s Adolescent Alcohol & Drug Treatment Program includes:

 

·         Alcohol and drug assessments

·         8-week comprehensive outpatient treatment consisting of substance abuse education group, teen support group, and multi-family education and support group

·         Random drug testing

·         12-step program attendance


Trained Staff

 

Our highly skilled and experienced team consists of licensed marriage and family therapists and interns. As well as CAADAC and CAADE registered and certified counselors. Our staff has extensive training, education, and experience with alcohol and drug abuse as well as the biological, social, and psychological aspects of the disease.


Results

 

At program completion, we have seen:

Warning Signs of

Substance Abuse

 

v           Withdrawal from usual friends or family; questionable new friends.

v           Drop in grades or other school problems.

v           Money or other items missing from home.

v           Dramatic emotional highs and lows or frequent outbursts of temper.

v           Sudden changes in appearance, weight, or hygiene.

v           Secretive, lying or manipulative behavior.

v           Obvious intoxication or drug high; giddiness, dilated or contracted pupils; slurred speech, coordination problems.

v           Presence of paraphernalia: cigarette papers, mirrors and razor blades, pipes, non-prescription pills, flasks.

v           Brushes with the law.
