Donations Benefiting the Discovery Counseling Center

The Thrift Station, located in downtown Danville, is an all-volunteer organization that relies on donations from the community to benefit the Discovery Counseling Center. Discovery Counseling Center (DCC) is a community-based non-profit organization serving the San Ramon Valley for more than 50 years. DCC is committed to providing individuals and families with affordable and high-quality mental health services and improving bonding and health communication. In addition, DCC provides a counseling intern at all of our 36 local SRVUSD schools.

How to Donate?

We are open Monday-Saturday 10am – 4pm. Donations are gladly accepted during our open hours. Drive to the back of the shop and bring your donations inside. Look for our signage and blue door. Give us a call if you have questions about donating!

Things We Love:

  • Gently used adults and children’s clothing in good condition – all seasons accepted

  • Athletic wear

  • Warm winter coats, boots, hats, scarves, and gloves

  • Women’s and Men’s accessories: purses, scarves, shoes, ties, purses, hats

  • Sporting goods such as golf clubs, baseball bats, tennis balls, sports cleats, yoga mats, weights, helmets, soccer gear, bikes in good condition

  • Toys, puzzles, games, stuffed animals

  • Seasonal Décor! Halloween, Christmas, Easter, 4th of July, Valentine’s Day

  • Housewares: dishes, pots and pans, bowls, glasses, plates, silverware, art

  • Small electrical items. Lamps in good working condition

  • Tools

  • Housewares and decor

  • Decorative pillows, linens, sheets, tablecloths, runners

  • Pet supplies: collars, leashes, crates, beds

  • Small furniture items

  • Books

  • Crafts, yarn, buttons, ribbons

Items We Cannot Sell:

Broken or need to repair items, computers, printers, television sets, old or damaged books, textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines more than a year old, particle board furniture or large pieces, large appliances, mattresses or headboards, cribs or car seats, blinds or traverse rods, large carpets, large suitcases, plastic food containers, jars (except canning), used bed pillows, sleeping bags, comforters and mattress pads, used underwear, socks, swimsuits, and masks, snow skis or snow boards, boots, and poles.
